I'm starting to read the bestselling book We Need To Talk About Kevin.
It's difficult to read because the printing is small, there are big words and it's a long, emotional book.
A slight summary will be up once I'm done so stay tuned!

Dog search!
I'm a real dog person. I might even like having dog company more than I like being with people.
So lately, we've been looking for a second dog.
I have a 7 year old female German Shepherd named Hannah but I'm looking for a somewhat smaller, male dog.
Hannah wasn't socialized much when she was younger (we got her at 6 years old) and so she's reactive to other dogs, which really doesn't give us much to work with.
Where I live, there is a law against having Pitbulls (or anything that looks like a Pitbull) off leash. You have to muzzle it or you pay a fine.
I think that, with the right owners, these dogs can be extremely loving.
Here's a picture of Hannah!

Missing hockey
Guys, I'm so hockey deprived! I even started re-watching the Olympic 2010 Hockey DVDs, which doesn't really give me the suspense factor, because we all know how it ends.
Goooooooooooold!
Even with the lockout, I'm guessing that the World Junior Championships will commence around New Years, which I'm excited for.
Speaking of suspense, last night, I watched The Hurt Locker with Jeremy Renner (not with-with him) and it was amazing!
I'm very squeamish when it comes to blood and flesh and bones and stuff but I could watch the majority of the movie without covering my eyes.
Lately, I've also been into disaster flicks like War of the Worlds (which, my mom pointed out, seems less and less like a well put together movie if you keep thinking about it), 2012 and Poseidon.
I tried watching Poseidon last night but the disc froze. I hate that. It was right at the good part too.
Do you have any movie recommendations for me?

EOS New Adult Pink contacts
Diameter: 14.0mm
Water content: 38%
Base curve: 8.6mm
Disposal: 1 year
Buy them on pinkyparadise here!
Sorry for my under-eye circles and my awkward eyebrows. I'll do better next time, I promise.
I got these from the Summer Night Market a few months ago but I just opened them yesterday.
I like how the pink is so vibrant- it almost cancels out the brown in my eyes.
As a plus, both contacts went in very easily and I can hardly tell that I'm wearing them, except for when I look out of the corners of my eyes. There's a slight pink halo.
Overall, I'm very happy with these contacts! This is the first New Adult color I've tried and I'm hoping to get all the others as well.

Movie Recommendations
I never used to like to watch movies.
When I was younger, I was extremely sensitive.
Good movies were great, and slightly scary movies would give me nightmares for weeks.
Because of personal reasons, I left school for almost two years. What did I do during that time?
I started watching movies.
Honestly, I was never really into the superhero phase but something about Batman just caught my eye.
I know that almost everyone has seen Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and even The Dark Knight Rises (which comes out on Blu-ray and DVD December 4th!), but for those who haven't, I strongly recommend that you watch them.
I now own both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in DVD and I keep harassing KK to watch with me.
MOVIES TO WATCH!
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight Rises
War of the Worlds
Mission Impossible (all of them)
War of the Worlds
War Horse
Red Eye
Captain America
Thor
Iron Man - pretty much anything that has to do with superheroes.
Spiderman
Rambling, rambling, rambling. I'm sorry if I don't make sense!
My brain is half dead right now.

Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick
Here's another book recommendation for you guys!
Drowning Instinct
by Ilsa J. Bick
I saw this book in the library the other day and once I read the inside cover, (it was a hardcover) I was hooked.
The main character in this book is a girl, Jenna Lord. Things aren't great in Jenna's family. Her dad is violent and her mom is a drunk.
The summary on the inside cover states:
"There are stories where the girl gets her prince, and they live happily ever after.
This is not one of those stories.
Jenna Lord's first sixteen years were not exactly a fairy tale. Her father is a controlling psycho and her mother is a drunk. She used to count on her older brother-- until he shipped off to Iraq. And then, of course, there was the time she almost died in a fire.
There are stories where the monster gets the girl, and everyone cries for his innocent victim.
This is not one of those stories either.
Mitch Anderson is many things: A dedicated teacher and coach. A caring husband. A man with a certain... magnetism.
And there are stories where it's hard to be sure who's a prince and who's a monster, who is a victim and who should live happily ever after.
These are the most interesting stories of all.
Drowning Instinct is a novel of pain, deception, desperation, and love against the odds-- and the rules."
Please be warned that this book does contain some slight self harm.
Drowning Instinct starts out as Jenna is in the hospital, and then goes back to recap what had happened in her life up until that point. I found the lack of chapters refreshing. Instead, she talks into a tape recorder and each part is listed 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b and so on.
I couldn't stop reading it.
There were some interesting twists in the book that made it seem so much more real.
I hope you guys don't mind that I (kind of) review books. I also hope to spread the word about some of my favorite movies as well!

Heat vs Barons
On Friday I went to the Abbotsford Heat vs Oklahoma City Barons and the Heat won 4-0.
I was a little disappointed because I expected a bit more from the young stars on the Barons. However, the Barons won against the Heat on Saturday.
Yesterday, I went to three different animal rescues to look for a new dog and friend for Hannah!

This week
This weekend, I'm volunteering at a dog shelter for adoption day! Most of the dogs come from California where they usually are on death row if someone doesn't take them.
Oh and I won tickets for an Abbotsford Heat game tomorrow! They'll be playing against the Oklahoma City Barons who, right now, have Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Justin Schultz!
Some of my friends and I are planning a group cosplay of Happy Tree Friends. Be warned, it's disturbing and not for kids under 12! I'm going to be Toothy, the purple beaver in human form. I like feeling like I belong to a group.
I found out about Nick Pitera on YouTube and he's amazing!
